The Accessible Beaute’ Story
The Accessible Beaute’ Story
I am and will always be a glam girl. Hair, nails, make up, I love the glamour of it all. My makeup is a clear indicator of my mood, when I’m not feeling my best extra blush or a bold lip can brighten my day.
For me vision loss came suddenly without any warning. It was during my morning routine when I first noticed that something was wrong. I was having a tougher time than usual with my eye liner. I noticed that when I winked I was unable to see my reflection in the mirror. I was baffled but also extremely tired from happy hour the night before and I decided to do a simple make up application to ensure that I wouldn’t be late for work. I had no idea that in less than 24 hours I would be in an operating room and that I would lose vision in both eyes. A successful retina surgery gave me back my gift of sight, kinda. Having monocular vision has its challenges. Poor depth perception, impaired peripheral vision and color deficiency just to name a few. The road to Accessible Beauté has been paved with crooked eye liner and smudged lipstick. I never thought my greatest pain would became my biggest passion. I am committed to helping women express themselves without limitations.
